“Guardian of Memory” Award
Centre for the Thought of John Paul II announced as one of the five finalists in the “Guardian of Memory” award by one of the leading weekly magazines in Poland. In the INSTITUTION category the award goes to a museum, non-governmental organization or public institution that undertook new initiatives aimed at preserving and promoting Polish history. The finalists are chosen by the Guardian of Memory Executive Board among the candidates proposed by the readers of the magazine.
Centre for the Thought of John Paul II was acknowledged for preserving and promoting the thought of John Paul II, patron of Polish freedom and solidarity as well as preserving and promoting the thought of Karol Wojtyła. The nomination mentions the ‘Treasure of Solidarity’ project aimed at reminding Poland and the world about the unique phenomenon of „Solidarność” and searching for its spiritual roots.
