We are delighted to invite you to attend „The Treasure of solidarity: Lessons for Europe” international conference which will be held on May 4 and May 5, 2015 at the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Poland to the European Union in Brussels.

The aim of the conference is to reflect upon the achievements of the peaceful revolution conducted by the Polish “Solidarity” movement which irrevocably changed the face of Europe and the world. More importantly, its goal is to provide a forum for a thoughtful discussion of present-day challenges and opportunities for building and restoring solidarity in Europe, which at the threshold of the Third Millennium seems to be losing its moral and spiritual compass.

The ideas and values embodied by the “Solidarity” movement appear to be particularly needed today to inspire European politicians and intellectuals in their personal and public activities, and help them work out more effective solutions to the problems that Europe and the world are facing.

The conference is held under the auspices of the Polish delegations in the European People’s Party and the European Conservatives and Reformists in the European Parliament.
